We Recycle Clothes At The Twin Cities Marathon!
2012: 3,658 Pounds 2013: 2,699 Pounds 2014: 3,375 Pounds
2015: 3,458 Pounds 2016: 5,635 Pounds
On Sunday, October 7, 2018, thousands of runners will line up to participate in the TC 10 mile and the full marathon.
The day most likely will start out chilly as it has in recent years between 20 to 40 degrees. We encourage runners to wear layers and stay warm before the start of the race. As the runners get warm, they shed layers of clothing: sweatshirts, hats, gloves, t-shirts, socks, headbands, blankets. Since 2012, together we have recycled almost 10 Tons of discarded clothing and items from over 17,000 athletes. That adds up to a lot of clothing kept out of the landfill!
A big thanks to Twin Cities In Motion / Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and all the great volunteers for allowing us to participate in the clean-up effort.
We look forward to seeing everyone on race day. Good luck runners!
